Understanding Appreciation

Appreciating someone or something means more than saying thank you.

Appreciation means to understand the value of something or what someone brings to the table.

Kurt Wise once told the story of having been at a youth group meeting where they sang a song that included the line, “Heavenly Father, I appreciate You.”

A guest speaker got up to speak following that and ripped into that song: “Heavenly Father, I appreciate you??”

We have no idea what it means to fully appreciate God. He is unsearchable.
Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! “For who has known the mind of the LORD? Or who has become His counselor?” “Or who has first given to Him And it shall be repaid to him?” For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen (Romans 11:33-36).
For those who believe in Jesus, we have eternity to explore His infinite goodness, and still not reach its limits.
