When I was in college, one time in chapel I heard Dr. Bill Brown say, “We're not equal because we're the same; we're equal because we're different.”
I later told him how meaningful I found that line, and he told me he didn't remember saying it. Whether it came from him or not, I find much to agree with in it, and it seems Chesterton had a similar idea.
