Billionaires vs. Death

Tech billionaires apparently want to live forever. They're trying to do so in several ways.

1) Cure for ageing
2) Computer chip in your brain
3) Apocalypse insurance
4) 'Young blood' transfusions
5) Digital consciousness

The question is: Why would you want to, at least in this world? I know the climate folks talk about how this planet is the only livable one we have, and I'm sure folks could easily say, this life is the only one we have to live.

Except it's not.

“It is appointed unto man once to die, and after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).

No amount of wealth that man created (with the things God created for him and gave to him) will ever be effective in overturning God's Word. Death is unavoidable.

This is actually good news, because this world is fallen, and it falls short both of how God created it to be, and of the new heaven and the new earth God created that awaits those who believe in Jesus as their Savior.

Billionaire spending against death is not cause for covetousness, but for compassion. They are fearful and have no hope, or they would know this spending does nothing to change their mortal destiny. Finding hope outside themselves is also more difficult for them.

Please pray for these people. Pray that the rich would see their poverty before the Lord, the righteous Judge, and rely on Him for their salvation.
