National Day of Prayer

There were two mentions of prayer on the Senate floor I found noteworthy today.

The first mention of the National Day of Prayer came from Senator Lankford.

@SenatorLankford is also the first to mention the #NationalDayofPrayer on the @SenateFloor today.

The second mention of prayer I found noteworthy was from Minority Whip Senator Durbin of Illinois, the state where I was born.

On the #NationalDayofPrayer, @SenatorDurbin said he is praying for an end to the pandemic, “but I know better.”

Is “prayer” just something we say, or do we consider it actually talking to a real God wants to hear from us and acts on our behalf?
